“I think the playbooks are awesome. The patients and their families love them. The playbooks help keep the kids busy while they wait for their ER Doctor to see them. They are also a great tool for helping communicate with hospitalized kids. A child starts talking to me and we can start to build a trusting relationship while they are in the hospital. I can’t tell you how many kids eyes light up as they are trying to find letters and objects hidden in the pictures.

I love that the playbooks are a single sheet and do not require any additional crayons or markers. It is a no mess product and keeps the kids busy for longer than two minutes. The price is right too.
 
The kids love them and the parents as well. When I give a child a playbook, they usually respond by saying “Cool!” or “This is awesome!” I have also seen a scared child turn into a happy child when they begin to play with a playbook. Parents also love them and say they might need one too.
 
The playbooks are great to work with because they are not messy and provide the child with hours of fun. I think they really help make my job easier as a Child Life Specialist. All of the kids I have worked with have walked out of the hospital with a smile on their face and I am sure the playbooks have helped make that child’s day.
